Violence against women and children (Essay)

Violence Against Women and Children

This is a very controversial topic, so it has to be taken seriously and be touched very gently, because many people will feel disturbed, or just uncomfortable with it.

Violence against minorities has been a major problem in all of human history, mainly because of the consequences it causes. Many minorities have been attacked in all of our history as a species, but there are two kinds that i’m going to touch the most: Children and Women. These two groups are considered to be the center of all attention when touching this topic, because of its size and importance.

I think this topic is very extensive so i will be writing about some of the most important facts, some examples and my personal opinion.

Violence against women has been around since the beginning of our societies,  and not only physical violence, there’s also the case of women being just treated differently for the simple fact that they’re women. This is pretty noticeable when we see for example how much time did it take for women to get voting, or how they were being treated as just simply housewives or objects to reproduce. Women didn’t have a voice or a chance to get genuine jobs. This can be considered non aggressive violence in my opinion. There are also some other problems like domestic violence, where it can be considered aggressive violence, because the individual gets physically or psychologically hurt or damaged. And this doesn’t only apply to women, children are also part of this domestic abuse thing, and this hurts them more than women, because of their little age and little reasoning, a violent ambient can not only scar them physically but also psychologically. Children raised on these kinds of ambients tend to have higher antisocial characteristics, have higher criminal attitudes. Women on the other side tend to be less active.

In my opinion these topics are really controversial and one simple 500 words essay and they have a lot to talk about, there are countless examples of these problems. Some of the most noticeable on non aggressive violence are child laboring in the XVII century, in the XVIII century. There are also how women weren’t allowed to vote on any circumstances and couldn’t participate in any political affairs or formal laboral conditions.

Children being treated as worker prolifered in the XVIII century, when the industrial revolution occurred, where the demand for workers increased monumentally and some children were even forced to work under harsh conditions that clearly weren’t suited for them; some weren’t even suited for grown adults but that’s a topic for another day. Whilst this was happening many political movements tried to eradicate these kinds of problems, and they have been successfully disolved, to a certain degree. Some groups still want to make women more proactive into societies. Thanks to these kinds of groups minorities have been treated gradually with more and more equality.
